SECC's reflections
Audi was an exciting new addition for the year, and the expected charging was also very competitive. A car that could definitely be part of the challenge according to our expectations. However, they had a stated strategy to completely rely on the car's built-in navigator and let it determine charging stops and travel route. In addition, they would drive the car with the AC and stereo on as normal, and 21 inches on the wheels together with two relatively inexperienced drivers, meant that we probably didn't really believe in a top position in the end. But this team impressed a lot. An impressive charging curve is probably the main reason why they squeeze into fifth place. And with only 7-8 minutes from first place, we can't help but wonder how things would have gone with slightly smaller rims, and more focus on driving energy efficiently.
