SECC 2020

During the gloomy period of the Corona pandemic, people were barely allowed to leave Sweden, and the idea of ​​running Ystad–Haparanda again fit well into the current restrictions. The competitors in 2020 did not need to meet in person more than at the start and finish.

Since several of the participants were from Skåne, the competition was run Ystad – Haparanda round trip. 6 teams participated in both the trip from Ystad and the return trip from Haparanda. However, only 4 teams completed both distances.

The first stage was an even story. After Basse Engh in his Tesla Model 3 decided to participate as late as an hour before the start, he had to drive home and pack some things. There was a small detour from the E4. With this, he fell significantly behind. Jens Lindqvist in his Tesla Model S took the lead early on, but Basse was able to shrink the distance as time went on. And in the end, there were only a couple of minutes separating them at the finish line. Jens was able to hold off and finish

The second stage was then won by Mikael Robertsson, who joined in Haparanda, and only drove this stage. With his Tesla Model 100D he was able to quickly drive into the lead, with great help from his large battery. He improved the record time further to 19.58.

The overall winner, however, was Jens Lindqvist, who almost beat 42 hours with his 42 hours and 2 minutes.
